Nadaljnji cilj magistrskega dela je bil preveriti faktorsko strukturo slovenske oblike vprašalnika, njegove psihometrične lastnosti in povezave z nekaterimi sorodnimi konstrukti (npr. Nadalje povezave z merami vključenih konceptov in dodatne faktorske analize ponujajo dokaze o konstruktni veljavnosti vprašalnika BAT, pri čemer potrjujemo konvergentnost in diskriminativnost konstrukta.

Title:BURNOUT ASSESSMENT: VALIDATION OF THE SLOVENIAN VERSION OF THE BURNOUT ASSESSMENT TOOL
Abstract:Past confusion and criticism connected to measuring burnout presently introduce the reason for development of new measuring tools with which the study of the concept of burnout would be as valid as possible. Researchers at the University of Leuven (Belgium) developed and validated a new questionnaire to assess burnout, the Burnout Assessment Tool – BAT, which defines four primary dimensions of the syndrome (exhaustion, mental distance, emotional impairment, cognitive impairment). Because of the adequate psychometric features of the original version of the burnout assessment tool – BAT, we translated for the purpose of the master's thesis and adapted it to Slovene linguistic and cultural environment. A further aim of this thesis was to review the factorial structure of the Slovene version of the questionnaire, its psychometric features and links to some related constructs (e.g. MBI, UWES-9, DUWAS). From this starting point we wanted to assess whether the Slovene translation of the burnout assessment questionnaire BAT is psychometrically adequate for use in Slovene environment. The research included 233 employed individuals (39.5 % of them were male), aged 22 to 62 years (M = 39.11), variously educated, of different employment status and form of employment. We used a test battery of questionnaires from areas of burnout, work engagement, workaholism, work demands and depression. The analysis of the inner structure of the burnout assessment questionnaire BAT confirmed the existence of multidimensional and hierarchical structure, which matches the theoretical model, but certain indicators show the need for individual modifications of positions. For the latter, we give concrete suggestions for changes and highlight possible reasons for their inadequacy in Slovene environment. Furthermore, the links to measurements of included concepts and additional factorial analyses offer proof of construction validity of the BAT questionnaire where we confirm convergence and discrimination of the construct.
