Title:Uporaba prehranskih dopolnil pri starejših ljudeh

Abstract:Teoretična izhodišča: Pravilna prehrana starostnika je zelo pomembna za delovanje organizma, kajti vsako nepravilno prehranjevanje lahko vpliva na zdravje ljudi. Prehranska dopolnila so pomemben del v starosti, saj dopolnjujejo prehrano in jih starostniki še toliko bolj potrebujejo zaradi večjega primanjkljaja določenih hranil. Pomembno je zavedanje ljudi, da prehranska dopolnila ne nadomeščajo običajne prehrane. Metodologija raziskovanja: V zaključnem delu smo uporabili kvantitativno in deskriptivno metodo dela. Uporabili smo anketni vprašalnik, ki je bil sestavljen iz 17 vprašanj in je bil anonimen. V raziskavi je sodelovalo 30 starejših oseb moškega in ženskega spola. Pridobljene rezultate smo obdelali s pomočjo programa Excel in jih prikazali z grafikoni. Rezultati: Ugotovljeno je bilo, da starostniki bolj slabo poznajo prehranska dopolnila. Bistvene razlike med prehranskimi dopolnili in zdravili ne poznajo. Večina jih definira kot dopolnilo, ki zadošča za uravnoteženo prehrano. Starostniki najpogosteje posegajo po koencimu q10, vitaminih in mineralih ter čebeljih izdelkih. Sklep: Pomembno je, da ugotovimo slabšo prehranjenost starostnika in s tem posledično pomanjkanje določenih hranil, ki so pomembni za organizem posameznika, ter da pričnemo dopolnjevati prehrano z prehranskimi dopolnili in dodatki. Pomembno je tudi, da so starostniki ozaveščeni o pomenu in uporabi prehranskih dopolnil in dodatkov in da ločijo razlike med prehranskimi dopolnili in zdravili.

Title:The use of dietary supplements in older people
Abstract:Introduction: Healthy diet of the older people is very important for a normal functioning of a body, because every incorrect form of diet can negatively affect health. Dietary supplements are important part of diet in older ages, because they supplement diet. Specifically, the older people need them even more due to bigger lack of certain nutrients. It is important for older people to be aware that dietary supplements do not replace ordinary diet. Research methodology: The quantitative methodological design with descriptive method was used. A questionnarie with 17 questions was designed, which was answered anonymously. In the research participated 30 older people of both gender. Obtained results were processed with a software program Microsoft Excel and presented in diagrams. Results: It was establiched, that the older people have the lack of knowledge of dietary supplements. They do not know the crucial difference between dietary supplements and medicines. Majority of them define dietary supplements as a supplement which is sufficient for a balanced diet. The older people most frequently take coenzyme q10, vitamins, minerals, as well as bee products. Conclusion: It is important for us to detect worse nourishment of the older people which results in the lack of certain nutrients, which are vital for a body, and to start adding dietary supplements to their diet. It is also important that the older people become aware of meaning and usage of dietary supplements, and distinguish dietary supplements from medicines.
