Title:Vloga šolske svetovalne službe pri integraciji otrok priseljencev

Abstract:V magistrskem delu smo se ukvarjali z vlogo šolske svetovalne službe pri procesu integracije otrok priseljencev v slovenski vzgojno-izobraževalni sistem. V teoretičnem delu smo predstavili migracije in z njimi povezane imigrantske politike ter pri tem izpostavili slovensko integracijsko politiko. Razložili smo pojem priseljenci in opisali značilnosti otrok priseljencev. Osredotočili smo se na vključevanje otrok priseljencev v slovenski vzgojno-izobraževalni sistem. Slednji temelji na načelu medkulturnosti, zato smo pojem medkulturnost podrobneje razčlenili. Pomembno vlogo pri integraciji otrok priseljencev v vzgojno-izobraževalni sistem imajo šolski svetovalni delavci. Predstavili smo njihove naloge, pomen v procesu integracije otrok priseljencev, vlogo v medkulturnem svetovanju in poudarili pomembnost razvitosti medkulturnih svetovalnih kompetenc. V empiričnem delu smo raziskovali posamezne vloge in vplive na vključevanje otrok priseljencev. Zanimal nas je odnos šolskih svetovalnih delavcev do medkulturnosti. Ugotavljali smo razvitost njihovih medkulturnih svetovalnih kompetenc. Raziskali smo, v kolikšni meri šolski svetovalni delavci sodelujejo z drugimi posamezniki z namenom izboljšanja medkulturnih odnosov. Prav tako nas je zanimalo, koliko strokovnega znanja imajo šolski svetovalni delavci za delo z otroki priseljenci in v kolikšni meri se usposabljajo za to delo. Mnenja šolskih svetovalnih delavcev smo primerjali glede na trajanje njihove zaposlitve, statistično regijo, iz katere prihajajo, in šolo, kjer so zaposleni. Lahko bi izpostavili nekaj ugotovitev. Šolski svetovalni delavci za uspešno vključevanje otrok priseljencev v ospredje postavljajo odnose otrok priseljencev s sošolci in učitelji. Medkulturno šolo vidijo kot prednost in najpomembnejšo vlogo pri pozitivnem spodbujanju medkulturnosti pripisujejo družini. Med kompetencami, ki so v procesu medkulturnega svetovanja pomembne, ocenjujejo kot najbolj razvito sposobnost empatije in spoštovanje etnične, verske pripadnosti otrok priseljencev. Šolski svetovalni delavci poudarjajo, da za delo z otroki priseljenci nimajo dovolj strokovnega znanja. Sklepamo lahko, da je integracija otrok priseljencev v vzgojno-izobraževalni sistem v Sloveniji aktualna tema, ki zahteva še veliko obravnave in s tem povezanega usposabljanja strokovnih delavcev šol.

Title:The role of school counseling in the integration of immigrant children
Abstract:The master thesis focuses mainly on the role of school guidance counselors in the process of integrating immigrant children into the Slovenian education system. In the theoretical part we discussed migrations and the politics of immigration where we set out particular points in the politics of Slovenian integration. We also explained the term immigrants and described the characteristics of immigrant children. In the thesis we focused on the integration of immigrant children in Slovenian schools and analyzed the term interculturalism in detail. When we talk about the integration of immigrant children in the education system, the school counselors, among others, play a very important role. We introduced their responsibilities, their meaning in the process of integration of immigrant children, their roles when it comes to intercultural counseling and stressed the importance of the development of intercultural counseling competencies. In the empirical part we explored the individual roles and the influences in relation to the integration of immigrant children. We wanted to find out how are school counselors in relation to interculturalism and the level of development regarding their intercultural counseling competencies. We explored to what extent school counselors collaborate with other individuals with the purpose to improve intercultural relations. We also were interested in how much expertise school counselors have when it comes to work with immigrant children and to what extent do they train for this job. We compared the opinions of school counselors according to their employment duration, the statistical region they come from and school they work in. The study helped us to determine that when it comes to successful integration of immigrant children, school counselors put the relations between immigrant children and their classmates and teachers above everything else. For them an intercultural school is an advantage and when it comes to encouraging interculturalism a family has the most important role. They also think that the most developed skill in the process o intercultural counseling is empathy and respect for ethnical and religious belongings of immigrant students. School guidance counselors emphasize the fact that when it comes to counseling immigrant students in schools they don’t have enough of expertise. We can deduce that the integration of immigrant children in the Slovenian education system is a very important and current topic that needs a lot of discussion and with that also the important training and development of professional workers in schools.
