Abstract:V Slovenski vojski skrbi za vojaški red in disciplino vojaška policija Slovenske vojske. Vojaški policisti so uradne pooblaščene osebe, ki so usposobljene za izvajanje različnih nalog. Od urejanja vojaškega prometa, ugotavljanja identitete, preprečevanja in odkrivanja kaznivih dejanj do varovanja oseb ter v vojnem stanju varovanja predsednika Republike Slovenije. Vojaška policija skrbi, da se spoštuje vojno pravo, ustava, mednarodne pogodbe kot tudi civilni zakoni. Od vojaškega policista se pričakuje, da bo svoje delo opravljal vestno, odgovorno ter »častno in predano«, kakor veleva moto vojaške policije Slovenske vojske, zato ker lahko pri opravljanju svojega dela posegajo v temeljne človekove pravice. V kopenski vojski združenih držav Amerike skrbi za vojaški red in disciplino korpus vojaške policije. Naloge korpusa se od nalog vojaške policije Slovenske vojske ne razlikujejo preveč, vendar opravljajo še dodatne naloge. Ena takih nalog je varovanje vojaških zaporov, ki jo v Slovenski vojski ne izvajajo. Vsi pripadniki oboroženih sil združenih držav Amerike se ravnajo po enotnem vojaškem kazenskem zakoniku, ki predpisuje pravila, zakone in sankcije. V diplomskem delu je predstavljena kratka zgodovina in razvoj obeh vojaških policij, njihova oprema in oborožitev. Predstavljene so tudi zakonske podlage na osnovi katerih imajo pravice in pooblastila za opravljanje policijskega dela. Namen zaključnega dela je predstavitev in primerjava usposabljanja za vojaškega policista, od osnovnega vojaškega usposabljanja do specialističnega usposabljanja obeh vojsk.

Title:Comparison between military police of slovenian armed forces and military police of united states army
Abstract:Military police is responsible for maintaining military law and order in Slovenian armed forces. Military police soldiers are certified officers who are trained to perform various tasks. From controlling military traffic, performing identifications, preventing and investigating criminality to protecting important military personnel and in times of war, protecting the president of Republic of Slovenia. Military police takes care that law of war, the constitution, international treaties and civil laws are respected and upheld. A military police officer is expected to perform his duties with conscientiously, responsibility and “with honour and dedication” as is the motto of Slovenian armed forces military police, because they can encroach on basic human freedoms. In United States Army the military police corps is responsible for upholding the military law and order. Tasks in Military police corps do not differ much from their counterpart in Slovenian armed forces, moreover, they perform additional tasks. One such task is operating in military prison as a guard, while in Slovenia there are no military prisons. The Uniform code of military justice is foundation of military law, which provide all uniformed services of United States, with laws, rules and sanctions. The diploma thesis presents a brief history and development of both military police, their equipment and firearms. The legal basis on which they operate is also presented. The main purpose is to present and compare basic military training and advanced training for becoming a military police soldier in both armed forces.
