Title:Učinkovitost različnih terminov in višin košenje na rast in razvoj pelinolistne ambrozije (ambrosia artemisiifolia l.)

Abstract:Namen raziskave je bil preučiti, kakšen je optimalen čas košnje ambrozije ter višina odkosa, da bi preprečili širjenje ambrozije na druge lokacije in njene škodljive vplive na zdravje ljudi. V ta namen smo izvedli lončni poskus z več dejavniki. Prvi dejavnik je bil višina mesta odkosa od tal (4 ali 8 cm od tal), drugi višina rastlin ambrozije, ko se izvede prvi odkos, in termin, ko se odkos ponovi (5 ali 10 tednov). Ambrozija je tekmovala s trpežno ljuljko (Lolium perenne L.), kanadsko hudoletnico (Conyza canadensis L.) in belo metliko (Chenopodium album L.). Rez s škarjami je bila simulacija košnje. Na koncu rastne dobe smo odstranili nadzemni del rastlin ambrozije in izvedli ocene števila semen, ki so jih oblikovale rastline,ter mase nadzemnega dela. Rezultati kažejo, da ima tekmovanje ambrozije z drugimi pleveli značilen vpliv na razvoj. Priporočljiva je čim kasnejša košnja, da zmanjšamo višino rastlin in število oblikovanih semen do konca rastne sezone. Rastline, ki so bile ponovno obrezane po 10 tednih, do polovice oktobra ne nadoknadijo velike nadzemne mase. Zaključujemo, da nižja točka reza (4 cm) spodbuja rast pri tekmovanju ambrozije v monokulturi, obratno pa višja rez (8 cm) spodbuja rast pri tekmovanju ambrozije z drugim plevelom. Regeneracija rastlin do konca rastne sezone je težja po poznejši rezi. Poskus kaže, da je z dvema fenološko natančno prilagojenima košnjama možno skoraj 100 % preprečiti cvetenje in oblikovaje semen ambrozije.

Title:The effect of diferent terms and heights of mowing on the growth and developement of ragweed (ambrosia artemisiifolia l.)
Abstract:The purpose of the study was to determine the optimal timing of ambrosia mowing and the height of the cut, in order to prevent the spread of ambrosia to other locations and its harmful effects on human health. For this purpose we carried out a pot experiment with several studied factors. The first factor was the height of the cut (4 or 8 cm from the ground), the second was the height of the ambrosia plants, when the first cutting was carried out and the period when the cutting was repeated (5 or 10 weeks). The ambrosia was grown in pots and competed with Lolium perenne L., Conyza canadensis L. and Chenopodium album L. The plants were cut with scissors. At the end of the growing season, the above-ground part of the ambrosia plant was removed and estimates of the number of seeds formed by the plants and masses of the above-ground part were done. The results show that the ambrosia competition with other weeds has a significant impact on its development. It is recommended that mowing – cutting is carried out later in the season to reduce the height of the plants and the number of produced seeds until the end of the growing season. The plants that were re-cut after 10 weeks were not able to compensate for the massive overgrowth by the middle of October. We also found that the lower cut point (4 cm) stimulates growth in a monoculture of ambrosia plants, and contrary, a higher cut (8 cm) increases the competitive ability with another weeds. Plant regeneration is more difficult after a later cut at the end of the growing season. The experiment shows that with two phenologically precisely adapted mowings or cuttings, we can prevent the blooming and seeds production of ambrosia by almost 100 %.
