Abstract:Zapuščina Carla Haasa je pomemben vir za umetnostnozgodovinsko raziskovanje, saj nam predstavi umetnostne spomenike Spodnje Štajerske v času tretje četrtine 19. stoletja, preden so začeli vanje obsežno posegati. Risbe predstavljajo mesta, gradove, samostane in cerkve. Pregledane in analizirane risbe so odprle nova vprašanja in prinesle nova umetnostnozgodovinska spoznanja o ptujskogorski cerkvi, župnijski cerkvi sv. Ožbalta na Ptuju, cerkvi sv. Treh kraljev v nekdanjem samostanu Studenice, cerkvi sv. Duha v Slovenj Gradcu, kartuzijah Jurklošter in Žiče.

Title:Art Monuments in Lower Styria in Sketches and Drawings by Carl Haas as a Source for Art History
Abstract:The legacy of Carl Haas is an important source for art historical research, as it presents the art monuments of Lower Styria in period of the third quarter of 19th century, that is before they were extensively interfered with. The legacy includes a large part of documents that pertain to art monuments of Lower Styria. Drawings depict towns, castles, monasteries and churches. The preserved Haas's documents reveal how art monuments in Styria were inventoried. The main assignment of Carl Haas and his follower Johann Gradt was to create an inventory of medieval monuments in Styria and design a map of monuments. The legacy of Haas helps us reconstruct the journeys of county archaeologists around Lower Styria. Styria’s county archive in Graz is the keeper of the legacy of Carl Haas. Fragments of a large fund are in the Institute for the Protection (of Monuments) of Cultural Heritage of Slovenia – Celje Regional Office and in the Heritage Information and Documentation Center, Ministry of Culture. The analysis of existent drawings is of great help in art historical research of monuments in Lower Styria. Drawings that had been examined and analyzed have opened new questions and brought new art historical understanding about the Ptujska Gora church, parish churches of St. Oswald in Ptuj, the church of the Three Kings (Sv. Trije kralji) in the former monastery Studenice, the church of the Holy Spirit in Slovenj Gradec, and the Carthusian monasteries of Jurklošter and Žiče. 95 % of drawings from the Haas legacy that depict art monuments in Lower Styria have not been studied or published on yet.
