Laktobacili uporabljajo mlečno-kislinsko vretje za izdelavo potrebne energije in so naravno prisotni v našem črevesju. Umirjajo vnetja, preprečujejo okužbe in razrast nevarnih mikroorganizmov v našem prebavnem traktu.

Title:The effect of lactobacilli on health: a systematic literature review
Abstract:This thesis has focused on the genus Lactobacillus and its potential effect on health. Lactobacilli use lactic acid fermentation to produce its needed energy and are naturally present in our gut. They subdue inflammations, prevent infections and inhibit growth of pathogens in our digestive tract, prevent or cure caries and oral infections. Not only do they affect our digestion, but also our psyche as they reportedly calm and alleviate the stress response. Skin diseases also fall into the influence sphere of lactobacilli as they prevent colonisation of pathogens, soothe irritated skin, boost healing and prevent wound infections. In rheumatoid diseases they actively regulate the inflammatory factors in the blood and soothe joint pain. They also prevent respiratory tract infections, which particularly target children. The elderly and chronic patients. In the area of vaginal health, they are essential as a part of a healthy vaginal microflora and prevent infections with various bacteria, some studies mention them as a possible cure against HIV infections. Research about lactobacilli delve into many fields, are proved as beneficial and are indispensable when it comes to healthy living.
