Teste strupenosti z vodno bolho smo izvedli v skladu s standardno metodo SIST EN ISO 6341:2013, test zaviranja rasti sladkovodnih alg pa s standardno metodo SIST EN ISO 8692:2012. Testiranim vzorcem smo s standardizirano metodo določili EC50 v primeru testa z vodno bolho Daphnia magna in ErC50 v primeru testa z zeleno algo Pseudokirchneriella subcapitata.

Title:Toxicity testing of wastewater with green algae Pseudokirchneriella subcapitata
Abstract:In accordance with the provisions of the general emission regulation, it is necessary to determine concentrations of selected chemical parameters as well as the toxicity for the aquatic organism Daphnia magna (small planktonic crustacean, water flea) in industrial waste water. In the case where herbicides are present in wastewater, it would be more appropriate to test the toxicity of organisms from first trophic level such as green algae for a more realistic environmental risk assessment. In this research we discussed the effect of various waste waters and herbicide terbutylazin on the aquatic ecosystem. Our intention was to investigate and justify the introduction of the toxicity test with the green alga Pseudokirchneriella subcapitata into Slovenian legislation. Aquatic toxicity test with water flea was carried out in accordance with the standard method SIST EN ISO 6341: 2013, and the freshwater algae growth control inhibition test was carried out using the standard method SIST EN ISO 8692: 2012. In tests endpoint EC50 was determined in the case of Daphnia magna and ErC50 in the case of a green algae test Pseudokirchneriella subcapitata. We have determined that waste waters have a different effect on the water flea mobility and on the growth of green algae. Herbicide terbutilazin, even at the highest concentrations used, did not exhibit toxic effects on daphnia, whereas in the case of algae concentrations were inhibitory at all levels used in tests.
