Abstract:Socialno podjetništvo in ponovna uporaba postajata vse pomembnejši področji proučevanja, saj vzpostavljata inovativne pristope k reševanju socialnih in okoljskih problemov ter oblikujeta nove poslovne modele. Rezultati raziskave teoretičnega dela predstavljajo razvoj novega celovitega modela, v okviru katerega smo identificirali pet ključnih dejavnikov vzpostavitve organizacije za ponovno uporabo: ponudbo, povpraševanje, mreženje, lokalno skupnost in institucionalni okvir. V drugem delu doktorske disertacije smo razviti teoretični model analizirali v okviru študije primera socialnega podjetja Recosi v Sloveniji. Ti so: mreženje, povpraševanje in lokalna skupnost.

Title:Model of social entrepreneurship on the example of reuse organizations in Slovenia
Abstract:Social entrepreneurship and reuse are becoming more and more important areas of study, by establishing innovative approaches and forming new business models to solve social and environmental problems. The number and variety of models found in the literature, imply a number of factors and different stakeholders in setting up and operating social enterprises and reuse organizations. Many existing areas of social entrepreneurship remain undiscovered, existing models refer primarily to the inadequate definition of the relationship between the key stakeholders in social entrepreneurship as well as in the reuse and the absence of a connection of key factors that are important for the establishment and development of a reuse organization that operate as social enterprise. Therefore, the main purpose of this study was to investigate, which are the key factors influencing the establishment of social entrepreneurship and the establishment of reuse activity, and identify and combine them within the framework of the dissertation. Special attention was paid to the creation of a set of conditions that must be met so that reuse organization can operate successfully. The results of the theoretical part of dissertation represent development of a new, comprehensive model for the establishment of a reuse organization in which five key factors were identified: supply, demand, networking, the local community and the institutional framework. In the second part of the doctoral dissertation newly developed theoretical model was analysed by a case study of the social enterprise Recosi in Slovenia. The emphasis was on the empirical testing of three key factors that were identified as essential in the doctoral dissertation: networking, demand and the local community. The results of the survey of the key factor »networking« revealed that social enterprise Recosi in Slovenia is a part of international social franchise network, which is in accordance with the one defined in the theoretical model. The key factor »demand« was tested on a sample of 600 randomly surveyed Slovenians, and based on the results of the empirical research was found among other things, that over 50 % of Slovenians already buy second–hand products. The study also revealed the existance of two groups of customers who show preferences for purchasing used products, and thus the key factor »demand« was empirically confirmed, which was identified also in the theoretical model. Finally, the key factor »local community« was tested on a sample of six local communities in which reuse organizations were already established. The study showed that local communities have a positive attitude towards the establishment of reuse organizations, but they are still not aware that their support is essential for the establishment and operation of reuse organizations in Slovenia. Therefore, the local community will need to be more aware and its role has to be defined more clearly, which is essential for the operation of reuse organizations as it follows from a defined theoretical model. The findings of our research on the key factors underlined by the dissertation enable us to understand some of the often overlooked knowledge regarding the development of reuse organizations that act as social enterprises. The theoretical definition of the model opens possibilities for future empirical research, especially the key factor of the »supply«, which was not tested in our doctoral dissertation.
