Abstract:Teoretična izhodišča: Sladkorna bolezen tipa 2 (SB2) je bolezen, ki zahteva stalen nadzor nad vnosom hranil.

Title:Usefulness of various methods for evaluating food intake in mobile applications for diabetes management
Abstract:Background: Type 2 diabetes (T2D) is a disease that requires constant control of the food intake. Especially in the field of information technology, many mobile applications (MA), which can enable this, have been developed with advanced technologies. The purpose of the master's thesis is to present three different types of food intake and to find out what the users like. Methods: The survey involved 106 respondents, of which 16 were diagnosed with T2D. Respondents filled out a questionnaire, which consisted of 15 questions. On the basis of the presentation images, they tried to find out what kind of food intake they liked. We wanted to determine whether the respondents use the food intake function and why they decide to use it. Results: In the master's thesis, we found out that statistically significantly higher grades were given to the participants in the input method in the assessment items by scanning barcodes. In our sample, we found out that people greatly value MA attribute to controlling disease and losing weight, although the actual use of MA healthcare is rare. Conclusions: Controlling the introduction of nutrients with the help of MA can become one of the key factors in controlling T2D. People like the simple and quick way of feeding inputs, such as input using a barcode scan. Many people have not yet used MA, so they need to be encouraged to use them.
