Z intenzivno propagando so povzročeni občutki sovraštva do drugih narodov prerasli v sovražne akcije.

Abstract:In the thesis the reasons for a rise of the Serbian ethnical nationalism is showed just before the decay of Yugoslavia and answered if this was a factor which contributed to the decay of Yugoslavia. The main reasons for the rise of the ethnical nationalism will not be found in the old suppressed hatred, but in the acting of the political elite, who tried to erase the period of coexistence from the collective memory when the people lived in mutual harmony under the slogan “brotherhood and unity”. »Ethnical manipulators« encouraged the ethnical nationalism through awakening the injustice with demonization through psychology of persecution and instant mythologization and were successful in mobilizing crowds to carry out particular political projects. The Serbian nationalism appeared at the end of the eighties as a revitalisation movement and appeared as a mechanism for deceasing stress when the political and economic crisis occurred. At that time also two different options occurred about the future of Yugoslavia, the federalist (Serbian and Montenegrin leadership) and confederalist (Slovene and Croatian leadership). Irreconcilable differences among two movements divided the Yugoslavian political elite and the state in general. With this aim the elite systematically intensified the feeling by mass media of being endangered from the other republics; »external enemy« served as an instrument of internal homogenisation. With an intensive propaganda the feelings of hatred were caused to other nations and grew out to hostile actions.
