Abstract:Kompostna voda vsebuje veliko organskih snovi, saj je eden izmed stranskih produktov pri postopku razgradnje organskih odpadkov.

Title:Comparison of pre-treatment processes of waste water prior to entering the reverse osmosis
Abstract:Compost leachate contains many organic substances since it is the by-product in the process of decomposing organic waste. Therefore, purification of the waste water is important area to study in order to ensure more environmental friendly and sustainable processes. In the thesis, we analyzed water treatment with reverse osmosis. The sum of organic substances was measured as Chemical Oxigen Demand (COD). Purification with nanoparticles (silver nanoparticles AgNPs) and zeolite purification (zeolite ZSM-5 Silicalite) were used as pre-purification procedures. Silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) were synthesized from sodium alginate dissolved in distilled water, to which silver nitrate (AgNO3) was added. Zeolite ZSM-5 Silicalite, which was formed by the granulation process, was also used as pretreatment adsorbent. After pre-treatment, the water was treated with a reverse osmosis at various pressures (10, 15, 20, 30 and 40 bars) and optimal pre-purification procedure was determined regarding membrane fouling. After the experiment was carried out, analyzes were made to determine which pre-treatment procedure was more useful. The results showed that the pre-treatment with nanoparticles is more effective as less membrane clogging was observed than with pre-treatment with zeolite.
