Title:Sustainable mobility in municipality of polzela
Abstract:Many cities are faced with negative impacts caused by road transportation. Residents of cities are experiencing negative side effects that are; accidents, congestions, noise, excessive concentration of exhaust gases. All of these are a big reason why Slovenian and other European cities put a lot of effort into the concept of sustainable mobility. The objective of sustainable mobility is to encourage people to use more sustainable modes of transport (public transport, cycling, walking), reduce environmental pollution and improve human health. In the Master's thesis, we present sustainable mobility in the municipality of Polzela. Because the whole concept of sustainable mobility includes many individual parts, we will be focusing only on public transportation. We did not perform our researching on the entire territory of the municipality of Polzela but we focused on the settlements that fall under the municipality of Polzela: Podvin pri Polzeli, Dobrič, Andraž nad Polzelo and Založe. Within the thesis, we interviewed residents of these settlements regarding their mobility habbits they have when going to the center of Polzela. On the basis of gathered results we proposed a solution that would improve the the mobility of the population in the settlements Podvin pri Polzeli, Dobrič, Andraž nad Polzelo and Založe and make it more sustainable.
