Title:Renovation of Liberty Square and Partizanska Street in Slovenska Bistrica
Abstract:The project presents the conceptual design for the renovation of Liberty square and Partizanska street in Slovenska Bistrica, in the case, when bypass around the city will be built. Motor traffic will be abolished through the city centre, a shared space area will be established and the percentage of open public spaces in the city centre will increase. For planning, we considered Analyses and proposals from the Elaborate, no. 986 - prom: Novelisation of the traffic study of the wider area of city Slovenska Bistrica, which was created in 2016. (Analyses and proposals from the Elaborate….., which was created in 2016, where considered in the process of planning.) The conceptual design for the revitalization of the historic city centre has taken into consideration the qualities of existing environment and improve them. When looking for a solution, the given circumstances, the function of the city centre and the principles of sustainable development, were taken into account. With the new design, key points trough he city centre were connected (Castle, Park, Liberty Square, Gradišče, Graslov tower), which were before disconnected. There will be several quality, well-planned and beautiful public spaces that would be friendly, sustainable, safe and vibrant to the people. With this, the sites provide a structure to the city, that will enable it to diversify activities within it.
