Title:Samopodoba ženske z urinsko inkontinenco

Abstract:Izhodišča: Urinska inkontinenca je nehoteno uhajanje urina, ki vpliva na samopodobo. Njena pogostost se povečuje s starostjo, vendar prizadene tudi mlajše ženske. Z raziskavo smo želeli ugotoviti, ali urinska inkontinenca vpliva na samopodobo ženske in v kolikšni meri. Metode: Uporabili smo deskriptivno metodo dela. Podatke za izdelavo teoretičnega dela smo pridobili iz slovenske in tuje strokovne literature, člankov, knjig in spletnih virov. Raziskovalni del je temeljil na kvantitativni metodologiji. Raziskavo smo izvedli s pomočjo anket, v društvu za pomoč osebam z urinsko inkontinenco in v Uroginekološki ambulanti UKC Maribor. Rezultati: V raziskavi smo ugotovili, da urinska inkontinenca vpliva na samopodobo ženske. Pri 17 % žensk se je raven samopodobe zaradi urinske inkontinence znižala. Opazen je tudi vpliv urinske na osebnost ženske. Urinska inkontinenca vpliva tudi na družabno življenje, telesno aktivnost, partnerstvo, spolnost in zaposlitev. Diskusija in zaključek: Urinska inkontinenca vpliva na samopodobo ženske, na osebnost in številna področja življenja. Menimo, da bi morali o urinski inkontinenci ljudi več ozaveščati. Tako bi zmanjšali strah pred priznanjem težav ter vplivali na to, da se samopodoba ženske z urinsko inkontinenco ne bi znižala.

Title:Self-Image of women with urinary incontinence
Abstract:Introduction: Urinary incontinency is a involuntary leakage of urine, which most certainly influences self-esteem. It is more common with age, but can also affect younger women. We wanted to find out if urinary incontinence influences, and to what extent, self-esteem of women. Metodology: A descriptive method was used. Data for the theoretical part were gathered from Slovenian and foreign professional literature, scientific articles, books and web sources. The research part was based on quantitative method. The research was carried out with a questionnaire. The society of people with urinary incontinence and Urinary and gynaecological dispensary of University Medical Centre Maribor were the main source of information. Results: Our research confirmed that urinary incontinence influences the self-esteem of women. For 17 % of women the self-esteem lowered due to urinary incontinence. Urinary incontinence also influences women's personality. Urinary incontinence also influences social life, activities, partnership, sexual life, and employment. Discusion: It was found out that urinary incontinence influences the self-esteem of women, on their personality and have an influence on their life. We believe that people should be aware of the urinary incontinence in order to reduce fear from acknowledging the problems and increase the self-esteem of women with urinary incontinence.
