Abstract:Diplomsko delo smo razdelili na dva dela, na teoretični in na raziskovalni del. V teoretičnem delu smo želeli pojasniti pojem stresa, stresorja in stresne reakcije, faze, vrste in znake stresa.

Title:Influence of stress on employees on Higher court in Ljubljana
Abstract:The thesis presents two parts, a theoretical presentation and a part dealing with research. In the theoretical part, the concepts of stress, stressor and stress reaction are defined. An explanation of the stages, types and symptoms of stress is also provided. Further, the causes of stress in general and in the workplace are discussed, as well as the effect stress has on both individual and the company. The thesis also describes the costs arising from stress in the workplace and stress management techniques for individuals and companies. The research has been conducted by means of a questionnaire, distributed in the Ljubljana Higher Court among forty employees. The notable results of the survey show that the majority of the participants in the survey were women and that the average age of the participants was 44.98 years, with an average period of employment of 11.38 years. The results also show that most of the employees occasionally experience stress in the workplace. At the same time, none of the employees experience stress at all times. The participants singled out their work tasks as the factor which contributes to stress to the largest extent. Among the stress factors, the participants pointed out heavy workload, heat, inappropriate lighting (either too soft or too strong), poor air quality, poor workplace communication and information flow, low salary, not enough rewards and incentives, not enough education and training and difficulty in combining their personal and professional lives. Employees commonly show emotional signs of stress. Most of the participants in the survey believe that stress has an impact on their health, although 70 percent of the employees have never taken sick leave due to stress-related illnesses. The majority of the participants find that turning to themselves to relieve stress is the most effective tool. They also believe that they would relax and continue working in stressful situations by having good work organization. They also consider rest to be a good tool in stress management. All in all, the participants demonstrate the ability to manage stress effectively. They point out that awareness of stress is important. Most of the participants find that, compared to previous years, work has become more stressful.
