Abstract:Diplomska naloga opisuje velik problem sodobne družbe - prenasičenost z odpadnimi plastičnimi vrečkami, ki zelo obremenjujejo okolje in potrebujejo izjemno veliko časa za razgradnjo. Predstavljene so alternative plastični vrečki (papirnata, bombažna, trajna in biorazgradljiva vrečka).

Title:MODERN SOLUTIONS IN THE USE OF SHOPPING BAGS
Abstract:This diploma thesis deals with one of the biggest problems of modern society: the oversaturation of the environment with discarded plastic bags which are harmful and require a very long time to decompose naturally. The thesis also covers the possible alternatives regarding this serious issue. The first chapter describes the problem of plastic packaging. The focus is mainly on the problem of HDPE plastic bags (high-density polyethylene bags, which are provided free of charge to carry fruit, vegetables and meat) and LPDE plastic bags (low-density polyethylene bags, which are usually sold at cash registers). The second part describes theoretical grounds of plastic packaging, the materials from which it is made, its function in society and its impact on the environment. Alternatives to the plastic bag are also presented here (paper, cotton, long-term and biodegradable bags). The third part deals with biodegradable plastic, with which we are becoming increasingly more familiar with in the last few years. It describes the main raw materials for producing this type of packaging. It also explains the symbols which tell the consumer what materials the bag is made from. In the fourth part we focus on the opinion survey. Our findings based on the anonymous poll are explained here. We also explain our findings which were based on the anonymous poll. The fifth chapter deals with the research work, which entailed the observation of consumer habits and our own comparison of the appropriateness of various shopping bags.
Keywords:plastic packaging, shopping bags, durable bags, biodegradable bags, biodegradability, impact on the environment
