Title:Data integration in dental clinic
Abstract:Studio Korošec d.o.o. is one of leading Slovenian companies offering dental services. Handling more than 1500 patient generates a lot of information and data, which is stored either in digital or analogue format. Adjustment of work procedure for storing this data, did not follow the pace of new trends and technologies, which led that crucial data is stored across different work places in the company, where they could be lost. Moreover, current storage procedure also makes searching for appropriate data difficult. Goals of this work is to redesign the work process and transfer it to real-life usage, so it will be easier to make backup copies and at the same time shorten the time for information lookup. The base for this renovation was analysis of current work process and infrastructure in the company. The next step was proposition for renovation needs of current infrastructure and work process. Based on the propositions, company made minimal changes to the infrastructure and network connections along with a setup of a new NAS server. After that shared network storages were created for work stations and applications, so work process was automatized to highest level possible, without special need for user interaction. After changes were applied, testing was made in practice. Changes brought positive effects on duration of work process and safety of stored data.
