Abstract:
Jeseni 2015 smo del posevka rži pokosili, stehtali količino zelene mase in nato s sušenjem določili količino suhe snovi po posameznih vzorcih. Del pokošene rži smo silirali in januarja 2016 opravili kemično analizo silaže.

Title:
The influence of sowing time on the growth and development of rye (Secale cereale L.) for fodder and silage
Abstract:
In 2015, we sowed rye variety Protecor. We sowed it at different times at the location of Zgornji Duplek. Our goal was to find out the influence of sowing time on the growth and development of rye (harvested in autumn) for fodder and silage. The experiment was carried out in three sowing periods and three repetitions. Plant height measurements were performed three times; we also measured the diameter of the stem and counted the number of leaves per plant. In autumn 2015, we mowed one part of tillage, weighed the amount of green mass and then dried it to determine the amount of dry matter for each individual sample. A part of rye was ensiled. In January 2016, we conducted chemical analysis of the silage. The highest green mass yield mown in autumn was in the first sowing period (32 507 kg ha-1). Dry matter yield was also the highest in the first sowing period (4547 kg ha-1). The largest rye grain yield after autumn rye mowing for the silage was in the second sowing period (6157 kg ha-1). From the results, we can conclude that sowing time affects the amount of green mass yield, dry matter yield and rye grain yield.
