Abstract:V diplomskem seminarju smo raziskovali, kakšna je vloga socialnih medijev na delo managementa. Podjetja uporabljajo različne socialne medije in uporabljajo jih v različne namene. V delu razpravljamo o socialnih medijih, poslovnih socialnih omrežjih, blogih in wikijih. V teoretičnem delu predstavljamo same naloge managementa, nastanek socialnih medijev in njihove funkcije za delo managementa. Socialni mediji omogočajo managerjem lažje, hitrejše in cenejše dostopanje do informacij tako znotraj kot zunaj podjetja, kar olajšuje samo načrtovanje. Iz vidika organiziranja lahko socialni mediji ponudijo možnost vodenja na daljavo, prisotnost na konferencah in sestankih ne glede na geografsko oddaljenost. Prav tako pa je pregled nad podjetjem bolj enostaven preko socialnih medijev, kjer so podatki spremenljajoči se in vedno na razpolago za vpogled. V empiričnem delu, ki smo ga izvedli preko strukturiranih intervjujev smo ugotovili, kateri so najpogostejši socialni mediji, ki jih uporabljajo v podjetjih, za kaj jih uporabljajo in ali podjetje izkorišča možnosti socialnih medijev.

Title:THE ROLE OF SOCIAL MEDIA IN MANAGEMENT WORK
Abstract:In thesis, we researched the role of social media in management work. Businesses use various social media for many different reasons. In this thesis, we discuss social media, business social networks, blogs and wikies. In theoretical section, we are presenting management tasks, the emergence of social media and its functions for management work. Social media enable managers to access information easier, faster and cheaper within the company as well as externally. This makes planning easier. Social media can, from organization’s point of view, offer opportunity to work remote, to be present on conferences and on the meetings, no matter the geographical distance. It is also easier to have an overview of the company on social media, where you can make changes in an instant and data is always ready for viewing. In empirical part of thesis, which we carried out through structured interviews, we found which of the social media that companies use are the most important, what they are using them for and if companies seize the opportunities that social media offer them.
