Title:THE PRESENTATION AND THE ANALYSIS OF THE SKI COURSE FOR CHILDREN
Abstract:My master’s thesis is focused on presentation of a children's ski course and their parents' opinion on the course in the ski school. It is divided into theoretical, empirical and practical part. The purpose of the empirical research was interviewing the parents of children who attended the school ski course in order to find out their attitude toward the ski course organization and execution, ski instructors, ski teaching aids and safety on the ski slope during ski courses. The aim of the practical part of this paper was to write lesson plans for the execution of the 5-day ski course for beginners and to implement them in practice. The results showed that the parents are satisfied with the organization and performance of the ski courses. They also have positive attitudes toward the ski teachers because they are well-trained and they were able to encourage and motivate the participants to learn effectively. However, maintaining positive relationship between the teachers and the learners increased the effectiveness of the course. With the results obtained we have found out that parents have positive opinions and views on the use of appropriate and entertaining teaching aids. Additionally, the teaching tools used in the course motivated the participants to learn much faster. We also found out that skiing safety for all the on-slope participants was well organized – appropriate safety nets were used, the course participants were fully informed of safety terms and their ski equipment met all the necessary safety requirements.
