Abstract:Kositrna piščal je glasbilo, brez katerega si težko predstavljamo irsko tradicionalno glasbo.

Title:Tin Whistle in Irish TraditionalL Music
Abstract:It is hard to imagine Irish music without a tin whistle. It’s also hard to find an Irish band that would not include one. There is no whistle player or musician that would dismiss learning playing on a tin whistle at the beginning of his learning path. Tin whistle became a synonym for traditional Irish music together with a harp, mainly because of its accessibility. Because of the emigration of the Irish folk in the beginning of the 20th century, it became widely used and popular amongst the traditional instruments. At first sight the whistle looks simple, but many of musical virtuosi reached a high level of expression using it. The whistle does not enable only the technical virtuosity, but allows a lot of different types of expression, characteristic to the whistle itself. Therefore a lot of Irish musical elements appeared while playing the tin whistle and transformed to other instruments as well.
