Title:PRAVOPISNE IN SLOVNIČNE NEDOSLEDNOSTI V JEDILNIH LISTIH IZBRANIH HOTELSKIH RESTAVRACIJ

Abstract:Nobeno besedilo ni imuno na jezikovne napake. Javna besedila naj bi bila jezikovno neoporečna. To velja za vse vrste javnih besedil, še posebej za jedilne liste, ki so ogledalo vsake restavracije, njen prvi stik z gostom, ki naj bi bil tako na željo gosta kot gostitelja brezhiben in brez napak. Realna podoba je, žal, pogosto drugačna, nasprotna: vsak jedilni list, ki smo ga obravnavali v diplomskem delu, vsebuje pravopisne in slovnične nedoslednosti. Jedilni listi predstavljajo pisno ponudbo v gostinstvu, ki je pomemben del turizma, s tem pa tudi javnega življenja. Knjižna slovenščina je na področju gostinstva še posebej izpostavljena vdorom tujk. Večina poimenovanj jedi in načinov priprave izvira iz tujih jezikov, predvsem francoskega, v današnjem času pa veliko izrazov prevzemamo iz angleščine. Jezikoslovci ugotavljajo, da prevzemanje tujk v naš jezik ne poteka po enem pravilu, ampak je prepuščeno ustvarjalcem besedila. Odnos gostincev do knjižnega jezika je ena od tem diplomskega dela tako v teoretičnem kot empiričnem delu. Nezainteresiranost odgovornih gostincev za slovenski jezik in njihova slaba srednješolska podlaga poznavanja jezika puščata sled v jedilnih listih, ki so polni nedoslednosti; raba knjižnega jezika pa je po egoističnem prepričanju gostincev v njihovo zadostno poznavanje slovnice izredno površna. Rezultat, ki ga vse te okoliščine pustijo v jedilnih listih, je gostom moteč.

Title:SPELLING AND GRAMMATICAL INCONSISTENCIES IN THE MENUS OF SELECTED HOTEL RESTAURANTS
Abstract:Every text is prone to mistakes. Public texts should be linguistically correct and that is true for all kinds of public texts, especially for menus. Menus are the first contact with the customer and a representation of a restaurant, therefore their grammar should be correct and free from mistakes. But in reality we see the opposite: every menu we researched, in our diploma paper, has spelling and grammar mistakes. Menus present written offers, which are an important part of tourism and consequently also of public life. Slovenian literary language is very susceptible to foreign words. The names of dishes and the techniques to prepare them come from foreign languages, especially French and nowadays English. Linguists discovered that these foreign words do not transfer to Slovene just in one way, but are designed by the ones who create the texts. Here we notice that those who create the texts, who write menus, do not pay enough attention to literary language. That is one of the topics of this paper, discussed in theoretical and empirical part. Those in charge of preparing menus are not interested in correct grammar and spelling, and they usually have only high school education; menus are therefore full of mistakes. The ones writing menus believe that their knowledge of language is good but the results show a different picture. The mistakes in the menus are to guests disturbing.
