Abstract:Na osnovi študija obstoječe sodobne literature in virov smo na temo politične retorike analizirali slovensko-nemški politični diskurz na primeru sedanje nemške kanclerke Angele Merkel in nekdanje slovenske premierke Alenke Bratušek. Pričujoče diplomsko delo je razdeljeno na dva dela, in sicer na prvi, tj. teoretični del, kjer smo opredelili pojma politična retorika in politično komuniciranje. Dandanes politična retorika in politično komuniciranje predstavljata vir ogromne moči, saj glavnim političnim akterjem omogočata prepričevanje, argumentiranje in definiranje njihovih političnih programov v javnosti. Poudarili smo pomen novodobnih družbenih medijev pri oblikovanju javne podobe politične osebnosti v postmodernem predsedovanju in hkrati poskušali opredeliti pojem diskurz v sklopu političnega komuniciranja. Zbrane podatke smo ustrezno uredili s pomočjo deskriptivne in komparativne raziskovalne metode.

Title:Analysis of the german-slovene political discourse in the case of Angela Merkel and Alenka Bratušek
Abstract:The Slovene-German political discourse in the case of the current Chancellor of Germany Angela Merkel and the former Slovene Prime Minister Alenka Bratušek was analyzed based on a study of existing contemporary literature and sources on the topic of political rhetoric. The thesis is divided into two parts. In the first, theoretical part, the terms political rhetoric and political communication were defined. Nowadays political rhetoric and political communication represent a great deal of power, since they enable the main political characters to convince, argue and define their political programs in the public’s eye. Furthermore, the importance of modern-day social media in the process of creating a politician’s public persona in the era of post-modern presidency was pointed out. At the same time, the use of the term political discourse was described in connection with political communication. Since verbal components and physical appearance of a politician are not sufficient enough for understanding the essence of his political discourse, the attention was also drawn to the use of rhetorical figures in public speeches of both politicians and mostly to the meaning of the extensive use of personal pronouns. The importance of political communication for the development of the European economy was also brought forward. The thesis was composed based on the study of current and relevant literature and also by collecting sources and documentation. The collected data was appropriately arranged and processed with the use of the descriptive and research method.
