Title:OCENJEVANJE KVALITETE PROGRAMSKE OPREME S TEORIJO KAOSA

Abstract:Začetek magistrskega dela vsebuje predstavitev temeljev in karakteristik programske opreme. Nato opišemo splošne principe testiranja programske opreme in evaluiramo najbolj znane programske metrike. Predstavimo tudi alfa metriko, ki zaradi karakteristik teorije kaosa predstavlja glavno izhodišče za nadaljnjo praktično analizo. Nato izvedemo praktični del, v namen katerega implementiramo lastno aplikacijo, s pomočjo katere na šestdesetih projektih izvedemo statistično analizo. Za projekte izračunamo vrednosti najbolj znanih programskih metrik in alfa metrike. Z analizo na podlagi statističnih zakonov pokažemo, da obstaja povezava med programskimi metrikami, ki merijo atribute kvalitete programske opreme, in alfa metriko, ki bazira na teoriji kaosa. Z dokazom povezave pokažemo, da so karakteristike teorije kaosa dobro izhodišče za merjenje kvalitete programske opreme.

Title:EVALUATION OF SOFTWARE QUALITY WITH CHAOS THEORY
Abstract:The beginning of our masters thesis describes the fundamental concepts and characteristics of software products. Afterwards, we present basic principles of software testing and evaluate the most used software metrics. We present alfa metric, which is the main point of our practical analysis due to having its basis on characterisics of chaos theory. Later, practical part is performed, for which we implement our own application, on sixty computer projects. Practical analysis consists of statistical evaluation on results of most used software metrics and alfa metric. With the analysis we prove that there is correlation between software metrics, which measure attributes of software quality, and alfa metric that is based on chaos theory. The correlation proves that characteristics of chaos theory represent a good base to evaluate software quality.
