Abstract:V sodobni družbi se vse bolj zavedamo kakovosti lastnega življenja in življenja naših bližnjih. V delu so predstavljeni dvojni domovi, javni in zasebni.

Title:PROBLEMS OF ISOLATED SENIORS IN RETIREMENT HOMES
Abstract:In modern society we are aware of the quality of our own lives and the lives of our loved ones. The quality of the elderly is becoming a higher priority in the institutional care. This all brings some changes and improvements, which allow older people, to make decisions about their needs and desires. Quality services are a good investment in the future, and this is recognized by the leading personal in nursing homes. Facilities are trying to see the innovations and change. They are seeking initiative to improve the quality and the lives of older people. Graduation thesis begins with the presentation of the term age and loneliness. These two concepts are connected and have large effects on the elderly population. Loneliness is a major problem in our society, because many times we prefer to look away rather than confront the issue. The work shows how older people cope with the disease and how to work with different treatments. We have to cope with the disease and learn about the consequences. We have a responsibility to familiarize ourselves with the disease. People living in their own homes and as well people in retirement homes face the problem of loneliness. In the second part, we learn about two different types of homes, public and private. We wanted to present the operation and services of homes, how they differ and what is their offer. We analyzed the function of Dom Danice Vogrinec, where we conducted a survey and made an interview with their worker. We also made two interviews with two elderly people, who have a different perspective on the retirement homes. The empirical results show different assessment of nursing homes.
