Title:MERJENJE ZAKASNITVE SIGNALOV IN PERIODE SIGNALA

Abstract:Magistrsko delo »Merjenje zakasnitve in periode signala« se nanaša na področje meritev, digitalne elektronike in obdelave signalov. V delu je prikazan pregled področja merjenja časa, ki se začne z opazovanjem Sonca pa vse do današnjih atomskih oscilatorjev. Potem je prikazana primerjava CMOS in TTL tehnologije izdelave integriranih vezij. Na podlagi analize in podrobno izbranih komponent je najprej izdelano simulacijsko vezje v programu Multisim. Potem je načrtovano in izdelano fizično oziroma realno vezje. Zahteve, ki so bile postavljene, sta omejitev na strojni izvedbi in ločljivost od 1 µs. Signal na vhodu vezja je lahko poljubne oblike, frekvence v območju od 10 Hz–1 MHz ter amplitude ne manjše od 4 V. Izbira med merilnikom periode in merilnikom zakasnitve je možna s stikali, ki se nahajajo na vezju. Rezultati testiranja so se pokazali kot zelo dobri. Odzivni čas merilnika je zelo kratek, zato lahko rečemo, da naprava deluje v realnem času. Uporabnost merilnika je prikazana z merjenjem periode srčnih utripov, možno pa ga je uporabiti pri številnih drugih aplikacijah.

Title:MEASURING THE TIME-DELAY OF SIGNALS AND THE SIGNAL PERIOD
Abstract:The master's thesis »Measuring the time delay and the signal period« refers to the area of measurements, digital electronics, and signal processing. The thesis gives an overview of the field of time measurement, starting with the observation of the Sun up to the present atomic oscillators. Furthermore, the use of CMOS and TTL technology for making integrated circuits is shown. On the basis of analysis and detailed selection of components, the simulation circuit was primarily created in the program Multisim. Thereafter, a physical circuit (i.e. real circuit) was designed and constructed. Requirements that were set are restricted by the hardware implementation and the resolution of 1µs. The signal at the circuit input can be in various forms, in the frequency range 10Hz–1MHz, and the amplitude no less than 4V. The choice between a period meter and a meter of time delay is made possible by the switches that are located on the circuit board. The results have been proven to be very good. The response time of the meter is very short, therefore, it can be said that the device operates in real time. The usability of the meter is shown by measuring the period of heartbeats, however, it can also be used in many other applications.
