Osrednji del diplomske naloge vsebuje analizo Miklošičevega Slovenskega berila za osmi gimnazijski razred (1865), prvega uradno potrjenega slovenskega gimnazijskega berila, ki kot novost prinaša literarnozgodovinski pregled slovenske književnosti.

Title:MIKLOŠIČ´S TEXT BOOK FOR 8TH GRADE OF GRAMMAR SCHOOL AS THE BASIS FOR TEACHING THE DEVELOPMENT OF SLOVENE (LITERARY) LANGUAGE
Abstract:In the introduction of the thesis I researched the development of education and textbook material in Slovenia in the 19th century. The focus is on secondary education and high-school textbooks, preparers of high-school readings are pointed out. Among the latter, Franc Miklošič and his role in preparing the Slovene readings for higher grades of gymnasiums are presented in detail. Miklošič’s commitment to the Slovene language in school practice is highlighted. The central part of the thesis contains an analysis of Miklošič’s Slovene reader for the eight class of gymnasium (1865), which is the first certified Slovene gymnasium reader and which as novelty brings historical overview of Slovene literature. This part of the thesis highlights the importance of Slovene reader to learn about the development of Slovene (literary) language; the linguistic analysis of Miklošič’s foreword to Slovene reader and content comparison of this reader used in second half of the 19th century with modern gymnasium Slovene readers is conducted. It is established that the Miklošič’s Slovene reader for the eight class of gymnasium (1865) is very modern for former conditions. It accurately shows the evolution of Slovene pre literary and literary language, also the linguistic image of contained words is significantly modernized. The Slovene reader includes texts which are canonically present even in today’s gymnasiums Slovene readers. Even today, Miklošič’s Slovene reader enables the understanding of developmental principles of Slovene (literary) language.
