Abstract:Teoretična izhodišča. Metodologija raziskovanja. V diplomskem delu smo v teoretičnem delu uporabili deskriptivno metodo dela. Sklep. Otrok s cerebralno paralizo potrebuje celostno in kontinuirano zdravstveno oskrbo. Pomembno je sodelovanje medicinske sestre in staršev, saj je skupen cilj kakovostnejše in lepše življenje otroka.

Title:QUALITY OF LIFE OF CHILDREN WITH CEREBRAL PALSY
Abstract:Theoretical background: Cerebral palsy is classified as a group of evolutionary dysfunctions in motion, body posture and coordination. It might occur in time of pregnancy, during birth or afterwards as the brain is not yet developed. Cognitive as well as sensory disorders, behavioural and emotional difficulties, and epilepsy might occur additionally. Nurses who deal with cerebral palsy affected children require additional competence and experience to assure a quality intergal and individual health care. Research methodology: The theoretical part of the thesis is based on descriptive method. Professional, domestic and foreign literature, along with electronic sources have been assembled, analysed and applied. A survey questionnaire consisting of open and close type questions was used as a research instrument in the empirical part. Results: According to the analysis of the assembled data, it can be implied that nurses provide parents with a decent amount of information on health care and child treatment. In their opinion, a collaboration with a nurse has a positive impact on assuring quality life for children with cerebral palsy. Conclusion: A child with cerebral palsy needs an integral and continuous health care. The collaboration of nurse and parents is significant, as they strive for a common goal – a better life for the child.
