Abstract:Kolonizacija Zahodne Afrike je proces, katerega posledice še danes narekujejo razvoj držav. V diplomski nalogi sem v kratkem povzetku opisala razvoj Zahodne Afrike do časa kolonizacije. V osrednjem delu sem se osredotočila na kolonizacijo in dekolonizacijo Zahodne Afrike s poudarkom na posledicah procesa kolonizacije. V posebnem poglavju bom prikazala razlike med britansko in francosko kolonizacijo ter posledice obeh oblik za razvoj držav. V zaključku podajam informacije o trenutnem političnem, gospodarskem in socialnem stanju držav Zahodne Afrike.

Title:West Africa Colonization
Abstract:Colonization of West Africa is a process of which the consequences are still dictating the development of countries today. The thesis briefly reviews the development of West Africa until the time of colonization and then focuses on the colonization and subsequent decolonization, with an emphasis on the consequences of the colonization process. A special chapter highlights the differences between the British and the French colonization and the consequences of both forms of colonization on the development of countries. The conclusion brings the information on the present political, economic and social status of West African countries.
