V magistrskem delu smo predstavili sam pojem motivacije in ga povezali z izobraževanjem in mladostništvom.

Title:ACADEMIC MOTIVATION OF SECONDARY SCHOOL STUDENTS IN CONNECTION WITH PERCEIVED SELF-EFFICIENCY
Abstract:Motivation is the driving force that leads each individual in the direction to satisfy his needs. During adolescence when an individual is experiencing many changes, motivation is very crucial, because of education through which everybody wants to achieve their goals. In the master thesis, I presented the concept of motivation and connected it with education and adolescence. I presented the self-determination theory, which is shown in external motivation, internal motivation and amotivation. Furthermore, I researched self-efficiency, which is a person's belief that a certain task will be done in the way that it is expected. I have made an experiment among high school students to test their motivation. In this experiment I tested five pre-set hypotheses. The first hypothesis which claims that high school students’ express greater intrinsic motivation than extrinsic, was rejected, because it turned out that they express greater extrinsic motivation. I have also rejected the second hypothesis, which claims that there is more amotivation among younger high school students. I was amazed that the third hypothesis was rejected. It claims that women are more intrinsically motivated, while men are more extrinsic motivated. It turned out, that motivation does not depend on gender. I confirmed the fourth hypothesis, which claims that higher self-efficiency results in better academic performance. I also confirmed the fifth hypothesis, which claims the higher the self-efficiency is the more expressed intrinsic motivation tends to be. When an individual has certain goals that he wants to achieve, he indicates both intrinsic motivation and self-efficiency, which gives him the belief in the successfulness of his actions.
