Title:Varnost v mobilnih sistemih Android in iOS, programska oprema za forenziko in primera mobilne forenzike na obeh platformah : diplomsko delo visokošolskega strokovnega študija Informacijska varnost

Abstract:Mobilne naprave omogočajo veliko funkcij, od osnovnih, kot so telefonski klici in sporočila, do zelo naprednih, kot je brskanje po spletu ali nakupovanje preko bančne mobilne aplikacije. Vsak razvoj v tehnologiji prinese poleg prednosti tudi slabosti, zato se je treba zavedati groženj, ki pretijo mobilnim napravam. Varnostni ukrepi so predstavljeni in primerjani na platformah Android in iOS, da bi se povečali zavedanje in izobraževanje uporabnikov mobilnih pametnih naprav. Zasebni in javni preiskovalci tako v Sloveniji kot drugje po svetu imajo veliko dela s skritimi ali izgubljenimi podatki. Povrnitev slednjih je mogoče uvrstiti v področje mobilne forenzike, zato so opisani nekateri mobilni forenzični programi ter pregledan del zakonodaje o digitalni forenziki. Predstavljena so mnenja strokovnjakov s tega področja in skupne ugotovitve za nadaljnje izobraževanje, povečanje mobilne varnosti in uporabo mobilne forenzike. S pomočjo opravljene lastne raziskave je predstavljeno, kako se anketirani uporabniki zavedajo mobilne varnosti. Prikazano je, ali uporabljajo ponujene vgrajene varnostne ukrepe, ki so na voljo za obe platformi. S praktičnim primerom je z uporabo mobilne forenzike nazorno prikazano, da je izgubljene podatke mogoče povrniti, vendar je uspeh odvisen od več dejavnikov, tudi od finančnega vložka glede na količino pridobljenih podatkov.

Title:Security in mobile systems Android and iOS, software for forensics and practical case with analysis of mobile forensics on both platforms
Abstract:It is hard to envisage everyday tasks being achieved without the use of a mobile device, as we can do simple tasks like making a regular call or an advanced function like surfing the web and using mobile bank app online. Technology development has its benefits and pitfalls, and in this piece, we will introduce some of the mobile vulnerabilities and mobile security steps prevalent to Android or iOS platforms. These platforms are utilised on a day to day basis, harbouring users related data which are exceptionally vulnerable to attack within mobile security. Private and public research projects conducted on mobile forensics in Slovenia and across the world struggle with the consequences of hidden or lost data. We will attempt to analyse the forensic programme pipeline in order to identify the source of these data leaks and compile a comprehensive report on the matter. The results from our own survey will be analysed and will enable us to comprehend the depth to which users understand mobile security and permit us to develop guidelines for the future. By studying mobile forensic related legislation and conducting personal interviews with researchers in the field, we will accrue primary research on the significant limitations and opinions as to the greatest barriers within the field. Methods and types of mobile forensics will be introduced, which are being used for a research on Android and iOS platforms.
