Title:Energy regeneration model of the high rack stacker
Abstract:The purpose of my master's thesis is to present an energy regeneration model and consequently encourage the idea of more frequent use of regenerative braking in internal transport as used in external means of transport. In the first part we intend to present the theoretical basis of transport in general with a focus on internal means of transport, dealing particurarly with forces and resistance which appear following their movements. Regeneration of braking performance and brakes themselves will be presented and explained. In the second part, we will firstly introduce a kinematic and dynamic model within movement of a high rack stacker. Furthermore, we will focus on the main topic, which is the calculation of energy regeneration of a high rack stacker. Individually we wil calculate the average power used when moving horizontally as well as the regeneration of energy when braking. Additional calculations of required power for hoisting of the hoisted carriage and regeneration of energy when lowering the hoisted carriage vertically will be made. We will also make a calculation of the time required for a single-command cycle. In addition, we will calculate the yearly consumption of energy as well as the yearly regenerated energy. Lastly, we will present our final results according to which a proportion between the consumed and the regenerated energy per year will be made. In conclusion, we will present our final solutions based on the acquired results, together with the impact of energy regeneration on green logistics and possible solutions for the use of regenerated energy.
Keywords:energy regeneration, required power, high rack stacker, forces, resistance (friction), movement, brakes
