Abstract:Za uspešno zdravljenje pacienta, še posebej življenjsko ogroženega so žilni katetri nujno potreben pripomoček.

Title:PREVENTING CATHETER RELATED BLOODSTREAM INFECTIONS
Abstract:Vascular catheters are necessary device for successful treatment, especially life threatened patient. Catheter related bloodstream infections can be dangerous, sometimes even fatal in treatment critically ill patients. For each infection is also extended hospital stay, total care increases the costs of treatment. To reduce infections significantly affects the knowledge of healthcare professionals about methods that reduce the transmission and incidence of new catheter related bloodstream infections. In the present research we want to establish if healthcare workers are familiar with guidelines for dealing with vascular catheters and what are the potential barriers that prevent them from working in accordance with healthcare standards.
