Abstract:V teoretičnem delu diplomskega dela so opisani spletni piškotki, ki so tehnika, katero uporabljajo spletne strani za razne funkcije, ki jih ponujajo.

Title:THE INFLUENCE OF AMENDMENTS TO COOKIES REGULATIONS ON THE USER
Abstract:The theoretical part of the thesis describes web cookies as a technique used by various web pages to use the functions offered by the web cookies. We describe the basic idea of the web cookies, the reason for their development, how they are used in practice, and the various forms they have evolved into. Additionally we present the regulations and legal restrictions for the legal use of the web cookies especially before and after the new European directive. The Web generates huge amounts of information which can be of very personal nature – from usernames to browsing habits or user interests. With the use of web cookies this data can be combined into a very specific picture of a particular user and can be accordingly used, or misused, to get a thorough picture of an user. This kind of data is particularly interesting for marketing companies as they can use it to place their advertisements to the pages used by a particular user and raise their sales, but they do it at the price of lowering the user's privacy. The empirical part of the thesis presents our research and statistical analysis with which we determined the influence of the new ZEkom-1 law (Act on Electronic Communications, 2012) on the acquaintance of the users with the use of web cookies and the changes noticed by the users when using the web.
