Pacienti so prisiljeni živeti zaščiteno življenje.

Title:CONGENITAL INSENSITIVITY TO PAIN WITH ANHIDROSIS
Abstract:The care of a patient with congenital insensitivity to pain with anhidrosis is presented in this thesis. The purpose of the thesis was to introduce congenital insensitivity to pain with anhidrosis and describe a nurse’s role in treating a patient with that disease. With analyzing articles we stressed the most common nursing diagnoses and described the impact of the disease on the patients’ lives of and their families. During the writing of the thesis we used a descriptive method. With the help of technical literature we introduced the newest discoveries in the structured form. We presented the diagnostic procedures for diagnosing the disease, its symptoms and the treatment. We explained the mechanisms for pain formation and the ways to measure it. We described the procedures of anaesthesia and stated the most frequent preoperative and postoperative complications that occur in such patients. We also presented the important role of a nurse and stated the most common nursing diagnoses appearing in patients with CIPA. We established that CIPA is a rare autosomal recessive disease about which many studies are still ongoing and we established that nursing care of a patient with CIPA is extremely demanding. Patients are forced to live a protected life. Every person suffering from CIPA needs an individual plan of nursing care formed by a registered nurse who has to have enough information and knowledge of this field to make judicious decisions about procedures and interventions in the context of nursing care and who is capable of taking care of a patient’s needs when it comes to daily activities. A nurse is also an important part of teaching the parents about this disease and the further activities, an important observation and supervision that parents carry out with a child with CIPA.
