Abstract:Ko se velikost materialov zmanjša v eni ali več dimenzijah, se njihove fizikalne in kemijske lastnosti bistveno spreminjajo zaradi naraščanja razmerja med površino in volumnom. V tekstilni industriji se uporabljajo tako nanodelci kot nanostrukturni materiali, nanokompoziti in nanovlakna. Uporabljajo se predvsem kot funkcionalne tekstilije, ki imajo specifične lastnosti. V prispevku so obravnavani nanomateriali, ki imajo antistatično, antimikrobno, samočistilno in ojačitveno funkcijo. V nadaljnjih prispevkih bodo predstavljeni nanomateriali za razvoj hidrofobnih, UV-zaščitnih in ognjevarnih tekstilij. Posebno področje so pametne tekstilije z integriranimi nanosenzorji ali tekstilije z nadzorovanim sproščanjem aktivnih komponent, zdravil ali dišav. Zadnji prispevek bo v posebnem poglavju obravnaval učinke in tveganja nanotehnologij/nanomaterialov za okolje in zdravje.

Title:Introduction to nanomaterials for use in textiles
Abstract:When the dimensions of materials reduce in one or more dimensions, their physical and chemical properties significantly vary due to the increasing surface-to-volume ratio. Today, the textile industry uses nanoparticles and nanostructured materials, nanocomposites and nanofibres, which are primarily used as functional textiles with specific characteristics. In this paper, we present nanomaterials with an antistatic, antimicrobial, self-cleaning and reinforcement function. Moreover, some nanomaterials for the development of hydrophobic, UV-resistant and fire-resistant fabrics are presented. A specific topic includes smart textiles with embedded nanosensors, and fabrics with a controlled release of active ingredients, drugs or fragrances. Furthermore, a separate chapter deals with the effects and risks of nanotechnologies/nanomaterials for the environment and health.
