Abstract:V magistrskem delu predstavljamo rezultate eksperimentalne analize primerjave protokola TLSv1.2, ki zagotavlja zasebnost uporabnikov in aplikacij, ki komunicirajo na spletu. Cilj je bil ugotoviti, kako različne nastavitve tega protokola vplivajo na prepustnost, promet, zakasnitve in odziv v primerjavi s protokolom HTTP. Za primerjavo smo izbrali devet nastavitev. Nastavitve predstavljajo različne načine izmenjave ključa, velikosti in tipa zasebnega ključa in algoritma šifriranja. Eksperiment smo izvedli s pomočjo spletnega strežnika Apache in orodja AB za merilo uspešnosti strežnika. Analize so pokazale, da imata velik vpliv na učinkovitost spletnega strežnika algoritem javnega ključa in algoritem izmenjave ključa, ko je vpliv algoritma šifriranja majhen. Z raziskavo smo prav tako ugotovili, da uporaba protokola HTTPS pomembno degradira uspešnost strežnika

Title:ANALYSIS OF SSL: DELAY AND TRAFFIC
Abstract:We present the results of experimental analysis comparisons TLSv1.2 protocol which ensures the privacy of users and applications wich communicate online. The aim is to determine how different settings of TLSv1.2 protocol impact on throughput, traffic, delay and response in comparison with the HTTP protocol. For comparison, we chose 9 setting. Settings represent different ways of key exchange, private key size and type and encryption algorithm. The experiment was carried out using the Apache web server and abs tools to benchmark the Apache server. Analyses have shown that a major impact on the efficiency of a web server having an public key algorithm and a key exchange algorithm, when the influence of the encryption algorithm is small. The research also found that the use of the HTTPS protocol lot degrades web server performance.
