Abstract:V magistrskem delu se bomo posvetili razvoju kariere žensk. Magistrsko delo je smiselno strukturirano na podajanje teoretičnih izhodišč in empiričnih ugotovitev pridobljenih na osnovi sekundarnih raziskav, ki so dostopne na svetovnem spletu. V drugem poglavju pričenjamo s podajanjem teoretičnih izhodišč, ki se navezujejo na razvoj kariere. V empiričnem delu pa podajamo ugotovitve uspešnih žensk iz podjetja IBM, ki so v okviru raziskave iz leta 2013 podale svoje mnenje o razvoju uspešne kariere pri tej multinacionalki. V tretjem poglavju pa se posvečamo pomembnosti usklajevanja kariernih in družinskih obveznosti. Najprej začenjamo s podajanjem empiričnih dejstev iz tujine, nato pa se osredotočamo še na pomembnost tovrstnega usklajevanja v slovenskih podjetij. V Sloveniji so se reševanja omenjenega problema lotili že leta 2007, ko je bila prvič izvedena pilotska raziskava za pridobitev certifikata "Družini prijazno podjetje", število sodelujočih podjetij pa iz leta v leto narašča. To poglavje smiselno zaključujemo s primerom usklajevanja družinskih in kariernih obveznosti pri podjetju IBM Slovenija. En del tega magistrskega dela pa smo posvetili tudi neučinkovitemu usklajevanju obeh področij. Kot posledica neučinkovitega usklajevanja se lahko pojabi stres, kasneje izgorelost, kar lahko vodi do zdravstvenega absentizma oz. pogostega koriščenja bolniškega staleža s strani zaposlenih. Če podjetje z ustreznimi ukrepi ne poskrbi za potrebe zaposlenih mater pa se lahko poveča tudi fluktuacija oz. odhodi iz podjetja. Svoje delo bomo sklenili s podajanjem sklepnih misli in potrjevanjem zastavljenih hipotez. Zaradi prostorske omejenosti smo določene vsebine vključili med priloge, saj smo mnenja, da le te bistveno pripomorejo k dvigu kakovosti le tega. Med prilogami se posvečamo spolnim kvotam in njihovi pomembnosti (in ali) nepomembnosti pri spodbujanju večje zastopanosti žensk na ključnih položajih odločanja. To poglavje zaključujemo s predstavitvijo slovenskih priznanj Artemida in Managerkam prijazno podjetje.

Title:WOMEN AND CARRER DEVELOPMENT
Abstract:In our master Thesis we will write about the importance of women and career development. Our work is separated into theoretical and empirical parts. In the first section we will write about the career path and all the aspects that go with it. In the empirical part we choose a well-known company named IBM and their study about Advancing Women at IBM 2012-2013 Executive Research Study. In this study women from IBM share their experiences about their road to the top. The second section is focused on the balance between work and family life. We found same interesting studies from foreign and Slovenian companies and we included them in this section. In Slovenia the companies first started to think about the importance of this balance in the year 2007. The project for family-friendly companies has more and more members every year. Holding a good balance between family and work is important for both sides: employees and employers the Slovenian study shows many advantages for both of them. We will also write the negative side of balance between work and family life. If we are unable to manage the balance, we deal with stress, burn out. Our company on the other side deals with fluctuation and absenteeism. In the part of the attachments we write about the gender quotes and their importance and also about the positive and negative opinions about them. We finish this section with the presentation of two important Slovenian prizes for encouraging women for being present on leading positions.
