Opis:S tretjim osnovnošolskim zakonom leta 1869 je osnovna šola resnično postala »politicum«, stvar države, na papirju uradno ločena od cerkve in duhovščine. Obiskovali so jo otroci med šestim in štirinajstim letom starosti, kar je med starši in učitelji, posebej na vasi, povzročilo veliko nevšečnosti. Učitelji so v tem času dobili pogoje za boljšo izobrazbo, obljubljeni so jim bili višji dohodki in večja samostojnost. V nalogi smo želeli predstaviti podeželsko šolo v Rimskih Toplicah med letoma 1859 in 1959. To zgodovinsko obdobje so zaznamovali številni politični dogodki: obe svetovni vojni, razpad Avstro-Ogrske monarhije in nastanek jugoslovanske države. Šola kot institucija se je novim razmeram prilagajala s številnimi reformami in zakoni kljub kritičnim pozivom učiteljev, ki jih je oblast s pridom izkoriščala, jim nalagala vedno več birokratskega dela ter jih vključevala v zunajšolske aktivnosti, hkrati pa hvalila njihovo skromnost in pokorščino, a bila vselej gluha ob njihovi duhovni in materialni stiski. Šole so se ves ta čas srečevale s prostorskimi, kadrovskimi, finančnimi in materialnimi problemi, kar je vsakič vplivalo na kakovost izobraževanja in raven znanja učenk in učencev. S pomočjo šolske kronike in ostalih virov smo v nalogi na kratko opisali družbene, politične in gospodarske razmere v državi. Poudarili smo tudi razlike med sprejetimi zakoni in dejanskimi razmerami oziroma problemi, s katerimi so se spopadali vaški učitelji pri vzgoji in izobraževalnem procesu, ko so morali spretno krmariti med še vedno močnim vplivom cerkve na vasi, bogatimi veleposestniki, ki so šolo videli kot odlično sredstvo potujčevanja, ter državo, ki jim je dajala kruh.

Naslov:SOME SOCIOLOGICAL ASPECTS OF A SCHOOL AS A SOCIAL INSTITUTION IN THE FIRST 100 YEARS OF SCHOOL EDUCATION IN RIMSKE TOPLICE
Opis:The third law on primary education in 1869 declared primary school as »politicum«, a matter of a state, officially separated of church and clergy. Schools were attended by children between the age of six and fourteen years what caused a lot of disapproval among parents and teacher, especially in the country. During that time teachers gained conditions for better education, promises of higher salaries and more teacher autonomy. The purpose of diploma paper was to show a way of life in the country between the years of 1859 and 1959. This period of history was characterized by many political events: both world wars, the fall of the Austro-Hungarian Empire and a creation of Yugoslavia. School as an institution was adjusted to new circumstances by introducing new reforms and laws despite the teachers’ criticism. Teachers were exploited, given a higher level of bureaucracy at work and integrated into extracurricular activities but at the same time they were given compliments to their modesty and obedience. However, the government did not appreciate teachers' emotional and material distress. During that time schools were faced with space problems, financial and material problems, and staff problems which affected the quality of education and students' level of knowledge. In my diploma paper there was in short depicted social, political and economic situation in the country based on school chronicle and other sources. There were pointed out differences between declared laws and the actual situation or problems that village teachers were coping with in the process of upbringing and education since life in the country was still under a big church influence and influence of rich and powerful landowners who considered school as a mean of cultural imperialism.
