Abstract:Teoretična izhodišča: Diplomsko delo govori o glistah pri otroku.

Title:ROUNDWORMS IN CHILDREN
Abstract:Theoretical introduction: This graduation thesis is about roundworms among children. In the theoretical part we have described the most common species of roundworms that can infect a child, the medical treatment of a child, infected with roundworms and the involvement of health education work of a nurse. The purpose of this thesis is to present roundworms and the treatment of a child with nematodes, to present precautionary activities of a nurse with the child and his parents and to discover the awareness and confrontation of parents when dealing with roundworms in a child. Methodology: Descriptive methodology was included in the composition of the thesis, where we have defined theoretical basis with the analysis of national and international literature. We have used the questionnaires in order to gather information. The questionnaire involved closed and semi-open questions. The research sample included 41 parents of preschool and school children. Results: The research has proved that roundworms among children are not a very common occurrence. Though only a few of interviewed parents has come across with them, parents can still recognize the signs of an infection with roundworms and know how to take appropriate measures. They are informed and aware of the significance of roundworms prevention to preserve quality health. Conclusion: Children do not know where these tiny creatures that can cause them serious problems can lie in wait for them. Therefore parents, pedagogues and medical staff have an important mission of guiding, directing and teaching the children and of making an example and support for them so that we can jointly contribute to the preservation and reimbursement of health.
