Title:Circumstances' Effects of Pupils' Eating Habits in the First Educational Period
Abstract:It is often observed that the knowledge of healthy eating habits is often neglected when planning healthy, protective and appropriate eating habits in the period of the first educational period of primary school. There is still too little emphasis on knowledge and its application to modify the consisting condition. The health of children is the responsibility of both the family and the type of institution: the country, health, educational and social system and others. In the context of these systems it is possible to create the conditions for a healthy and versatile development of children, which includes good health and especially healthy eating habits. Students of first educational period are the population which is the easiest to influence, and in this context one of the most vulnerable groups. Parents play a crucial role here, the largest in transferring the knowledge and eating habits to children. In the world and as well in Slovenia, there is a rise in overweight and obesity; both in the general population as well as in children, which is concerning because it represents a significant risk to increase the number of chronic diseases in adulthood. In short: this is the result of unhealthy eating habits. Those are influenced by various factors: family, school, peers, mass media, etc.
Keywords:knowledge management, healthy eating habits, first educational period, family's influence
