Abstract:V letu 2009 smo na Univerzitetnem centru za vinogradništvo in vinarstvo Meranovo preučevali vpliv nadmorske višine (zgornji del vinograda 474 m in spodnji del vinograda 441 m n. m.) na razvoj ter količino in kakovost pridelka sorte 'Laški rizling' na podlagah 'Kober 5BB' in 'SO4'.

Title:EFFECT OF CLIMATE CHANGE AND ELEVATION ON THE DEVELOPEMENT, YIELD AND QUALITY OF 'WELSCHRIESLING' SPECIES
Abstract:In 2009 a study on the elevation influence (the upper part of the vineyard was at an elevation of 474 m and the lower part at 441 m) on the development, quantity and quality of the ‘Laški rizling’ (Welschriesling) variety on the 'Kober 5BB' and 'SO4' rootstocks was conducted at the University centre for viticulture and oenology Meranovo. It also included research of the climate change influence on the development dynamics of the ‘Laški rizling’ in the Štajerska Slovenija (Styrian Slovenia) wine-growing region. Climate parameter trends, i.e. the average growing season temperature (from April to October) and Huglin’s and Winkler’s index have been calculated using data from the meteorological station in Maribor Tabor for the period between 1950 and 2013. In grapevines located in the upper part of the vineyard, the development of the phenophases on 'SO4' rootstock took place three days earlier than in all the other grapevines. The leaves and grapes temperature measured on the three different elevations (441, 474 in 517m a. s. l.) was predominantly the highest in the middle part of the vineyard (474 m). The vine produced from the upper part of the vineyard contained less total acidity. The sensory evaluation assessment of the vine rated the vine from the upper part of the vineyard, which was on 'Kober 5BB', as the best. Trends of various climate parameters and indices confirm a climate warming after the year 1980 which influenced the beginning and dynamics of grape ripening. The trends of increase for the average growing season temperature for the period between 1980 and 2013 is 0,06 °C per year, the Huglin’s index 12,1 °D units and the Winkler’s index 11,2 °D units. The variety ‘Laški rizling’ now ripens 21 days earlier than it did in the 1980’s.
