Abstract:Diplomsko delo predstavlja zasnovo elektronske kositrne piščali. Ob razvoju glasbenega inštrumenta smo stremeli k čim manjši spremembi občutka igranja na izvirno glasbilo ter hkrati želeli omogočiti prilagodljivo digitalno osnovo, ki bi omogočala poljubno manipulacijo z izhodnim zvokom. V delu je predstavljen predlog rešitve, ki vključuje tako strojne kot programske gradnike. Izdelali smo tudi prototip, ki vključuje baterijsko napajan modul s senzorji, ki se ga vstavi v ohišje piščali in brezžično pošilja odčitke na sprejemnik. Željeni ton se generira na osnovi analize prejetih podatkov, uporabljenega algoritma in uporabnikovih nastavitev. Izdelek omogoča učenje glasbila tudi v okoljih kjer to zaradi pomanjkanja zasebnosti prej ni bilo mogoče ter hkrati predstavlja izhodišče za platformo, ki omogoča eksperimentiranje z novimi oblikami glasbenega izražanja.

Title:ELECTRONIC TIN WHISTLE
Abstract:In the context of the thesis, we developed of an electronic tin whistle. While designing the musical instrument, we were interested in keeping the original experience unchanged as much as possible and at the same time implement a flexible digital platform which would be capable of DSP sound manipulation. We present a proposal for a solution, which encompasses both hardware and software components. We also constructed a prototype battery powered module with sensors which can be placed into the whistle casing where it transfers the read data wirelessly. The desired tone is generated on basis of sensor data analysis, the algorithm chosen and user-definable settings. The product enables instrument practice in environments where it would be previously impossible due to lack of privacy and at the same time presents a basis for development of new forms of musical expression.
