Title:AN INTEGRATED SYSTEM FOR REMOTE MONITORING OF A BEE HIVE
Abstract:The aim of this diploma work is to design an integrated system, which will allow remote monitoring of a beehive based on measurements of factors such as weight, temperature, moisture, activity, frequency and amplitude of the buzzing and after a certain period also by analytically determining the status factors based on statistical processing. The system will consist of five modules: measurements of temperature and humidity will be based on a temperature and humidity sensor; weight will be based on a Wheatstone bridge, whose signal will be reinforced by the differential amplifier; frequency and amplitude of the buzzing on the basis of a microphone circuit with sufficiently large amplification. The data will then be passed on to the server or to the owner of the beehive over the GSM network. The system will be coordinated by an Atmel microcontroller. Measured data will be used to accurately determine the state of a beehive and to alert the owner of any possible problems. The system was designed using various software packages. The microcontroller program was designed with the help of the Atmel Studio software environment, the circuit itself was designed in the Eagle program. We also used the RealTerm program, which was used for communication with the microcontroller via serial communication to verify execution of the software code.
