Title:VPELJAVA CELOVITEGA MODELA OBRAVNAVE IZJEM ZNOTRAJ STORITVENO USMERJENE ARHITEKTURE

Abstract:Storitveno usmerjena arhitektura predstavlja evolucijo porazdeljenih računalniških sistemov in temelji na konceptih interoperabilnih storitev. Ena izmed vidnejših pomanjkljivosti storitveno usmerjene arhitekture je njena pomanjkljiva podpora obravnavi izjem. To predstavlja precejšnjo oviro pri gradnji kompleksnih in za izvedbo nalog ključno pomembnih aplikacij. Učinkovita obravnava izjem v poslovnih procesih in orkestriranih spletnih storitvah tako predstavlja atribut zanesljivosti izvajanja modelov poslovnih procesov. V doktorski disertaciji se osredotočimo na vpeljavo celovitega modela obravnave izjem znotraj storitvene usmerjene arhitekture. V ta namen predlagamo formalni model za specifikacijo obravnave izjem na osnovi politik in strategij obravnave izjem v modelih poslovnih procesov z namenom vzpostaviti in omogočiti večjo odpornost procesov na izjeme. Predlagani formalni model podamo s pomočjo matematičnega zapisa. S formalnim modelom naslovimo izpostavljene pomanjkljivosti obravnave izjem procesno usmerjenih izvršljivih jezikov v storitveno usmerjeni arhitekturi. Formalni model je zasnovan tako, da je neodvisen od procesnega jezika. Izvedljivost formalnega modela preverimo z njegovo preslikavo v jezik za izvajanje poslovnih procesov (BPEL), ki predstavlja de-facto standard za orkestracijo storitev znotraj storitveno usmerjene arhitekture. Učinkovitost predlaganega formalnega modela preverimo z merjenjem kompleksnosti procesnih modelov ob podpori uporabe procesno usmerjenih metrik.

Title:Introduction of the comprehensive fault handling model into service-oriented architecture
Abstract:Service Oriented Architecture is an evolution of distributed computing systems. It is based on the concepts of interoperable services. Service Oriented Architecture does not provide sufficient architectural support for application and information integration. One of its noticeable deficiencies is its basic and limited fault handling mechanism which presents problems when building complex and crucial applications. Powerful and flexible fault handling abilities in business processes and orchestrated web services play a critical role in implementation of business process models. In this doctoral thesis we focus on introducing a formal model for fault handling mechanism within Service Oriented Architecture. The proposed model defines policies and fault handling strategies. It aims to make business processes more fault tolerant. We explain it with a mathematical representation. The proposed model addresses fault handling issues of process oriented executable languages in Service Oriented Architecture. Our model does not depend on a particular process language. We evaluate the feasability of the proposed model by translating it into Business Process Execution Language. Business Process Execution Language represents de-facto standard for orchestrating web services inside Service Oriented Architecture. Furthermore, we measure complexity of business process models by using process metrics. This way we check the efficiency of the proposed model.
