Abstract:V diplomski nalogi najprej opredelimo pojem mobbinga, njegove učinke na posameznika in organizacijo ter problematiko odkrivanja in preprečevanja njegovega razvoja.

Abstract:In the diploma thesis we first define the concept of mobbing, its effects on the individual, the organization and the problems involved in discovering and preventing it from evolving. With the purpose of relating the process to managerial leadership, we present the meaning of management and its role in mobbing prevention activities. The influence of managers on mobbing prevention is theoretically quite significant but practice shows that management is often very careless and not invested enough in performing those tasks. We continue with getting to know the basic tasks of managers and the most established leadership models through the perspective of the conflicting nature of task oriented and relationship oriented styles. We focus on the influence of managers of the work environment that creates relationship dynamics among employees. We discover that by forcing the goal of efficiency and economic profit managers are creating pressure that directly worsens relationships between employees and promotes lack of ethics and values in the name of reaching business goals. Instead of creating conditions to prevent mobbing, they typically perpetuate it even further. The main reason for the gap between managerial leadership in theory and practice is the absence of ethics and values of fair business making and social responsibility. It seems to be a cry for a renewed systematic exercise of basic values and ensuring individuals' safety in the work place. In the last part of the thesis we present the phenomenon of sports, its effects on the individual and his psycho-physical health and the proverbially traditional ethical system of values that binds together any form of regular sport activities. With the help of proven positive effects of sport ethics on development of relationship oriented skills and capabilities, we conclude the link between management's need for establishing a new system of values with the intent of preventing mobbing and involvement in sports activities of managerial leadership figures. The main finding that binds the thesis together is that the applicable value of sports ethics and values may very well represent the missing link in ensuring efficiency of preventing mobbing on the managerial level of organizations.
