Abstract:
Osrednja tema diplomske naloge je vloga novih medijev v političnem komuniciranju. V ta namen diplomska naloga najprej podaja opredelitev ključnih elementov političnega komuniciranja in političnega marketinga. Drugi del diplomske naloge se ukvarja z mediji, kot glavnimi kanali distribucije političnih sporočil. Pri tem je izpostavljen predvsem internet in z njim povezane nove komunikacijske prakse. Slednje predstavlja analiza predsedniških kampanj dr. Danila Türka in Baracka Obame v analitičnem delu diplomske naloge.

THE ROLE OF NEW MEDIA IN POLITICAL CAMPAIGNS
Abstract:
The main theme of the thesis is the role of new media in political communications. At the beginning the thesis gives the definitions of the key elements of political communications and (political) marketing. The second part deals with the media as the main channel of distribution of political messages. Primarily is exposed the Internet and along with the Internet associated new communications practices. In the analytical part of the thesis is presented an analysis of presidential campaigns of Dr. Danilo Türk and President Barack Obama as an example of new communications practices.
