Title:ZAGOTAVLJANJE VISOKE RAZPOLOŽLJIVOSTI V IT PODJETJU

Abstract:Namen magistrskega dela je predstaviti visoko razpoložljivost informacijskega sistema kot pomembnega segmenta zagotavljanja varnosti tega sistema in neprekinjenega poslovanja podjetja. Informacijski sistem ima ključno vlogo pri zagotavljanju uspešnega poslovanja podjetja. Odpoved ali motnjo v delovanju informacijskega sistema lahko povzroči načrtovana ali nenačrtovana prekinitev. Nenačrtovanih prekinitev je v primerjavi z načrtovanimi veliko manj, so pa zato toliko bolj neprijetne, včasih celo katastrofalne. Razlogov za izgradnjo visoko razpoložljivega informacijskega sistema je več. Najučinkovitejši vzvodi so zakonodaja, varnost, zanesljivost in razpoložljivost. Glavno izhodišče te naloge je, da ni vprašanje ali se podati na pot visoke razpoložljivosti informacijskih sistemov in neprekinjenosti poslovanja, temveč utemeljiti in poiskati, katero pot izbrati in kako priti do cilja. Namen naloge je predstaviti razloge in tehnologije ter prednosti in slabosti rabe visoko razpoložljivega sistema. Cilj naloge pa je prikazati, da je pomemben dejavnik poslovanja podjetja. Razlog implementacije rešitve neprekinjenega poslovanja vidimo v povečanem ugledu družbe, manjših stroških zavarovanj, povečanem zavedanju o tveganjih, boljši komunikaciji, proaktivnem upravljanju sprememb in optimističnemu poslovnemu načrtu. Uvajanje visoke razpoložljivosti je prikazano na konkretnem primeru slovenskega IT podjetja, MAOP d.o.o.

Title:ENSURING HIGH AVAILABILITY IN IT COMPANY
Abstract:The purpose of the master thesis is to present a high availability of the information system as an important part of ensuring information system security and continuity of business operations. Information system plays a key role in ensuring the success of the company. Failure or malfunction of the information system can lead to planned or unplanned interruptions. Unplanned interruptions in comparison with planned are much less, but they are much more unpleasant, sometimes even disastrous. There is a few reasons for building a high available IT system. The most effective is law, security, reliability and availability. The main starting point of this thesis is that there is no question of whether to give way to the high availability of information systems and business continuity, but to justify and find which path to choose and how to get to destination. The purpose is to present the reasons, technology and the advantages and disadvantages of the use of highly available system with a goal to display how important factor it is to the business of the company. The reasons of implementation business continuity solutions are seen in the increased reputation, cost of insurance, and increased awareness of the risks, better communications, proactive change management, and optimistic business plan. Implementation of high availability is shown in a concrete example of Slovenian IT Company MAOP Ltd.
