Title:SINTEZA Mg 1+x Fe 2-2x Ti x O 4 NANODELCEV S SPREMENLJIVO CURIEJEVO TEMPERATURO

Abstract:Namen diplomskega dela je bil sinteza Mg1+xFe2-2xTixO4 nanodelcev z različnimi sestavami po dveh različnih postopkih; s sol-gel metodo in mehanokemijsko metodo. Vzorce, sintetizirane po sol-gel postopku, smo naknadno različno termično obdelali. Drugo vrsto vzorcev smo sintetizirali z različno dolgo trajajočim mehanskim mletjem v mlinu. Na koncu smo vse vzorce analizirali na rentgenskem praškovnem difraktometru (XRD) in jim z modificirano termogravimetrično analizo (TGA) določili Curiejeve temperature. Rezultati kažejo, da pri sintezah nismo dobili delcev s popolno Mg1+xFe2-2xTixO4 sestavo. Analize na rentgenskem praškovnem difraktometru so pokazale, da je v vzorcih prisoten hematit. Pri primerjavi difraktogramov večih vzorcev smo ugotovili, da termična obdelava vzorcev z višjimi temperaturami in vmesnim mletjem zmanjšuje vsebnost hematita v vzorcih, saj so sintetizirani delci večji in bolj homogeni, vendar nimajo želene sestave. Za želeno dobro homogeno sestavo glede na vhodne količine reaktantov bi bila tako potrebna še nadaljnja termična obdelava vzorcev. Na koncu smo vzorcem določili še Curiejeve temperature. Ugotovili smo, da imajo sintetizirani vzorci visoke Curiejeve temperature. Vzorci, sintetizirani z mehanokemijsko metodo, imajo nižje Curiejeve temperature kot vzorci, sintetizirani s sol-gel metodo. Za dosego ustrezne Curiejeve temperature magnetnih nanodelcev, torej za uporabo teh v hipertermiji, je potrebna nadaljnja kemijska obdelava vzorcev.

Title:SYNTHESIS OF Mg 1+x Fe 2-2x Ti 2x O 4 NANOPARTICLES WITH AN ADJUSTABLE CURIE TEMPERATURE
Abstract:The purpose of this bachelor thesis was a synthesis of Mg1+xFe2-2xTixO4 nanoparticles with two different processes; the sol-gel method and the mechanical milling. Magnetic nanoparticles synthesized by the sol-gel method were later differently thermally treated. The second type of samples was synthesized by diversely lasting mechanical milling. In the end all synthesized nanoparticles were analyzed by X-ray powder diffraction (XRD). By modified thermogravimetric analysis (TGA) we determined Curie temperature (TC) of prepared magnetic nanoparticles. Results revealed the particles Mg1+xFe2-2xTixO4 incomplete composition. The results from XRD showed that Mg1+xFe2-2xTixO4 nanoparticles contain hematite. Increasing the temperature of thermal treatment and intermediate grinding reduced the content of hematite. The synthesized nanoparticles are bigger and more homogeneous, but they do not have the desired composition. Therefore, for a desired composition and homogeneity of synthesized nanoparticles, a further thermal treatment is required. Lastly the Curie temperature of samples was determined. The results from modified TGA measurements showed high Curie temperatures of nanoparticles. Nanoparticles synthesized by mechanical milling showed lower Curie temperatures than nanoparticles synthesized by sol-gel method. To achieve appropriate Curie temperature of magnetic nanoparticles and therefore their application in the hyperthermia, further chemical treatment of synthesized magnetic nanoparticles is required.
